The work „Discounter Still Life II“ refers to the painting „Still life with ham, lobster and fruits“ (1653) by Davidsz. de Heem (born 1606 in Utrecht; died 1683 or 1684 in Antwerpen. The arrangement of the original was reinterpreted in a contemporary approach using food that shows the consumer behaviour of today.
