IMMERATH

Room installation IMMERATH, 2018

Display of a selection of found objects (sand stones, roof slate and soil from the church of Immerath; garden lamp from abandoned house) related to the village of Immerath-Erkelenz that is currently taken down to make way for opencast lignite mining (RWE/Garzweiler). On January 8th, 2018 the church of Immerath (Immerather Dom) was torn down after being desecrated. The church was a symbol for the resistance against the resettlement strategies of RWE.

Realized with the help of Das gelbe Band.
