Video inspired by a press photo (ca. late 1920s) depicting Australian actress and dancer Blanche Satchel wearing an icicle necklace. The text on the reverse of the press photo reads: »North Pole fashion in America: The conquest of the North Pole has so excited American women that they have even taken to wearing ›North Pole fashion‹. Blanche Satchel, an American aristocrat, adorned with a necklace of golden icicles.« In the video, the artist‘s assistant wears a necklace made from real icicles. The icicles were made using meltwater from a drill sample that scientists from the Alfred Wegener Institute took from an Arctic ice floe in 2023 during a voyage of the research vessel Polarstern.
